Arizona, You have my heart

Car camping around

I spent my first two-ish weeks car camping around Sedona, Flagstaff, and the Grand Canyon, and let me preface this with saying, those two-ish weeks were some of the best of my life. My first night car camping I met up with this guy named Jeremy and his pup, Everest. Jeremy has been living in a renovated bus for almost six months now and he seriously made my life in my car so easy for those two weeks. We got along incredibly well, both having kinda similar lives; he being from Maine, me being from New Hampshire. Both of us growing up playing hockey at private high-schools, then us both realizing that college wasn’t for us and making drastic changes in our lives. As I was slightly unprepared for life in my car, he made it much easier on me, making me some coffee and meals occasionally, though I tried returning the favors whenever possible.

But let me tell you, waking up each day with breathtaking views right outside my windows, and going to sleep with the starry night sky hugging my car… it’s an incredible feeling. Here are some pictures that I hope capture even a fraction of the feelings I had.

My second stop on my road trip with Glamping Hub was this cute tiny cabin situated in the Coconino National Forest, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Thought not overly big, this cabin had everything that I needed for an amazing three nights there. The kitchen was fully stocked and I made this delicious tofu stir fry the first night, which definitely got the stay off on the right start. Then, since I had been on the road for about two weeks with no shower, I took probably a top five shower of my life, which felt sooo amazing; I have learned to appreciate each and every shower I get now. My favorite thing about this accomodation, aside from the killer location in the Coconino National Forest, and being close to other cool spots to check out, like Sunset Crater and Grand Falls, was the wooden barrel sauna that Mahesh, the host, had just put in. I haven’t taken a sauna in years, but man did it feel incredible. And being able to see the stars right from the sauna was such a cool feeling. When I make my way back to Arizona again, which I know I will, this place will definitely be on my list. Here are some pictures from my time there and the listing can be found here.

From there I went to…. Flagstaff again!! Haha, only about twenty minutes south of the tiny cabin, this log cabin was so stinking amazing! I was only there for two nights but it sure felt like home as soon as I pulled in the driveway. Not only did this log cabin remind me of good ol’ New England, it came fully stocked with coffee, muffins, oatmeal, and a bunch of other stuff; it was so homey! Though I didn’t need the wood stove, it was still nice to have one, and gave it some rustic charm. Since it was located in Kachina Village it was real close to downtown Flagstaff, which is pretty hopping! I spent my couple days here just really trying to relax and enjoy life, as that’s the most important thing to do! Hope you enjoy the pictures, oh and feel free to check out the listing here.

This one was superrrr cool… This A-Frame (almost a U-Frame) was tucked away far back in the Ponderosa pines of Prescott National Forest. After meandering through some back roads, you finally pull up to see the cabin and as soon as you step out of the car, this overwhelming sense of peace just falls over you. The Lynx Creek runs right through the property, which gives it just this incredible, constant ambience. That, paired with some birds chirping here and there, and little, to almost no, car traffic, makes for a surreal escape. Completely off the gird, this cabin runs on its own water tank and only on solar power. I ate my dinners by candlelight, which let me tell you has got to be one of the coolest things ever, in my opinion. Within twenty minutes of the cabin is also Waston lake and downtown Prescott, both awesome places worth a visit. Prescott is a cute little town with a bunch of breweries, coffee shops, and little stores to explore around! Falling asleep and waking up to the little rush of the creek was honestly my favorite thing, and something I will look forward to if I ever return to Prescott, which I definitely plan on. As always, I hope you enjoy some shots I got of the place, and you can check out the listing here.
